War movies can be dense, depending on the approach. No matter how much explosions there are, its genre famous for a slow pace to deliver a message. Fury is not one of the best of its kind, where depth is missing and the ending is inconclusive.
The film is about a tank, Fury, that goes behind enemy lines in the last few months of World War II in Nazi Germany. Its leader is Sgt. Don “Wardaddy” Collier (Brad Pitt), joined by Boyd “Bible” Swan (Shia Labeouf), Trini “Gordo” Garcia (Michael Peña), Grady “Coon-Ass” Travis (Jon Bernthal). The main conflict is between this experienced soldiers and young Private Norman (Logan Lerman) who was put into this crew, hazing him through the tough world.
The performances were good, and that gave it a certain vibe. Brad Pitt sure loves to kill germans, its his third movie after Legends of the Fall (1994) and Inglorious Basterds (2009). You could say he has an advocacy to spread around the facts, a philanthropy that he probably picked from Angelina, adding his rough touch.
It is chilling to see how a boy got shaped by the war. All the experiences in life are seen through the character’s eyes and how they’re distorted to how it should be. Everyone represents something different, they unite because of their common goal. The movie it’s sort of a catharsis. Because horrors can always be told in a different way, there really is not limit to human imagination.
Fury is written and directed by David Ayer, produced by Bill Block, John Lesher, Alex Ott, Ethan Smith, and Ayer himself. The main audience for this movie is male, just as the target of rom-coms are female. Fury is an average film that will like drift into oblivion soon. Pitt’s southern accent is becoming cartoon-y, a cliché like Johnny Depp’s Jack Sparrow and Christoph Waltz’s cynicism.
At times the tank setting is monotonous, in others, the actions are unbelievable to the audience, and the ending will bother more than one. It was well constructed up until then, with a general paranoia of the characters giving the circumstances; yet the conclusion is too vague yet predictable for this type of story. If it wasn’t for the cast’s star power this one would’ve been a complete failure. I give Fury a lazy 3/5.
Las películas de guerra pueden ser densas, dependiendo del enfoque. Sin importar cuántas explosiones tengan, es un género famoso por la lentitud para generar un mensaje. Corazones de hierro no es de lo mejor en su tipo, donde falta profundidad y el final es inconcluso.
El filme es sobre un tanque, Fury, que se mete detrás de líneas enemigas en los últimos meses de la Segunda Guerra Mundial en la Alemania Nazi. Su lider es el Sargento Don “Guerrillero” Collier (Brad Pitt), junto a Boyd “Biblia” Swan (Shia Labeouf), Trini “Gordo” Garcia (Michael Peña), Grady “Coon-Ass” Travis (Jon Bernthal). El conflicto principal es entre estos soldados experimentados y el joven Norman (Logan Lerman), a quien pusieron en el equipo y acosaron hasta adaptarlo a un mundo difícil.
Las interpretaciones fueron buenas, dándole un toque bueno. A Brad Pitt le encanta matar alemanes, es la tercera película después de Legendas de Pasión y Bastardos sin Gloria. Se podría decir que tiende a la vocería de hechos, una filantropía que seguro se le pegó de Angelina, agregando su elemento de crudeza.
Eriza ver cómo a un muchacho la guerra lo convirtió en hombre a las patadas. Todas las experiencias cotidianas de la vida se ven a través de los ojos de los personajes y cómo están distorcionados sobre el normal. Cada uno representa algo diferente, lo que los une es un objetivo común. La película es como una catársis. Como los horrores siempre se pueden contar de otra forma, no hay límite para la imaginación humana.
Corazones de hierro está escrita y dirigida por David Ayer, producida por Bill Block, John Lesher, Alex Ott, Ethan Smith, y el mismo Ayer. La principal audiencia para esta película es masculina, así como las comedias románticas están destinadas a mujeres. Este es uno de los casos promedio que caerá en el olvido pronto. El acento sureño de Pitt se está convirtiendo muy caricaturesco, un cliché como el Jack Sparrow de Johnny Depp y el cinismo de Christoph Waltz.
A veces la ambientación del tanque es monótona, otras, las acciones dejan a la audiencia incrédula, y el final picará a más de uno. Se había construido bien hasta ese punto, con una paranoia general de los personajes dado dónde se encuentran; pero el cierre es muy vago y a la vez predecible para el tipo de historia. Si no fuera por la calidad de los actores, Corazones de Hierro hubiera sido un total fracaso, le doy un flojo 3/5.
